POIbase - Who we are

POIbase is a joint project of the companies Navigating GmbH, Pocketnavigation GmbH and POICON GmbH & Co. KG. At POIbase we combine detailed programming expertise, Europe’s largest forums platform and marketing/distribution expertise in providing content for mobile satellite navigation systems.

Since 2002, before the introduction of the POIbase product line, the three companies have already developed together the well-known products POI Finder, POI Warner and POI Pilot. This know-how is used all the time to continually optimise POIbase products and is of benefit to you, the customer.

Our milestones:

2010
Start of the device-independent navigation content and community platform "POIbase".

Redevelopment of the GPS-Warner under the name "POI Pilot".
Already awarded “excellent” reviews twice.


2009
POI Finder technology made available for the iPhone in the App Store under the names POI Warner LITE and Pro. 

The new "POIbase" platform enters the public beta phase. 


2008
Extensive discount with the LEH-Plus.
New partnerships with Becker, Blaupunkt, Alpine and LG.


2007
Announcement of the successful POI FINDER 3.0 and the first Special Edition, POI FINDER Bargain Guide at the IFA. First navigation system developed in partnership with ADAC publically announced at CeBIT. 

First major project with ADAC to implement its own navigation equipment including Premiere presentation at the CeBIT.


2006
First top award from the magazine Navi Connect. 

Launch of POI-Finder 2.0 as a new retail brand.


2005
First content bundle deals of mobile navigation systems for the German and European mass markets.


2003
Development of the first add-on software "POI-Warner" with dynamic POIs.

Pocketnavigation.de rises to the largest user forum on Europe for mobile navigation systems. Winner of Pocket PC Award-Europe "Product Innovation of the Year."


2002
Technical integration of the first static POIs.
